Im looking to do one of these bookshelf nanos... 24" long by about 8"wide and 8" high... maybe more... it comes out to 6.6gallons. I tried looking on petsmart and couldnt find anything.

Its perfect because I am looking to replace my 5.5g desktop with something that is a full 24" long so I can use T5s... so 24x8x8 or 24x8x10... right in there.

i think they are custom made, maybe someone will chime on otherwise...

cadlights.com has a picture frame one that is pretty cool...

I know the tank you are talking about. PetCo carries / carried them for the longest time. I haven't been in a PetCo for at least 3-4 months. I always eyed them up because of the unique long and skinny look.

Take a close look before you buy, the build quality leaves a little something to be desired.

Well, I can build custom if I need to... starphire and all... thats no problem. I just didnt want to if I didnt have to...

But that does give me an idea....

Since Im building the new 125g, It would be easy to have the glass-shop add on three pieces of 24"x8", 1/4" plate glass, flat polish the edges, and make one starphire. Then add a couple 8"x7.5" starphire ends... hmm... I would want a frame though too... thats the catch. Even 2" euro bracing would leave only a 4" slot in the middle to work with. Maybe just a 3" wide center brace... 7.5" long. Then I just do the aragacrete wall/overflow like in my 5.5g now and let er rip... maybe not a bad idea...

My 5.5g desktop nano is just in need of replacement. Im using 2x13wattPC bulbs on it (its only 4g w/ the internal overflow), and thats just not cutting it. Even mushrooms are dying. With a 24" long one (my desk is 24" deep) I can use 2x24wattT5 bulbs... much nicer!

my local petco carries them...i was seriously contemplating getting one since they're only 50 bucks and have a filter (for flow only of course).

I have seen them at the Petco by me. The only thing that throws me off is the box says it is 23 3/4" long. I think the other deminsions are 6", 6" or something.

ya everything is expensive here in AZ tho i hear. I've talked to a few people out of state...they're all saying that they get live rock for like 3 bucks a pound at most of their stores...the cheapest place by me has it for 5 and its crappy rock...the good stuff goes for 7-10 most of the time...so that may just be AZ's overpriced crap ut who knows.

It wasnt just the tank that it came with...it had other stuff i just cant remember.
