add to that list all the stores that can be found in the "SPONSORS" section of reefcentral. Got to the buttons at the top and click on sponsors.

thats awsome i didnt know thatthere were memberships and discounts and everything
where are the meetings held

iknow where the fish stores and i was just wondering hwere everyones favorite one was, mines pet vet they are absolutly awsome if you take the time to talk with them and they love to just talk fish with no intent to buy its awsome

I buy my drygoods online and prefer to buy livestock locally to support our lfs'. However if its something rare or fragile I will buy online because of better availibility and gaurantees. I'm glad you experiences with Pet-Vet have been good because mine have been less than favorable. Just shows you that different people will have different luck at the same place.

I prefer to shop:
Leigh ann at "Aquariums" in edmond
Sloan at "exotic aquatics" in norman

I have yet to go check out a few stores that i really need to go see, A.R.T. and Aquarium concepts especially, so far, leigh ann and sloan have taken good care of me though, worth the hour drive any weekend

When I shop in OKC, I'm really torn. I've only been to a few stores, but the ones I've been to are good. I really couldn't pick a facorite from any one of them. They have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Wet Pets by Steve
Exotic Aquatics
Aquatic Resources Technologies (Gary, correct me if the name is wrong again. I just know ART)
Aquariums (Leighann's place in Edmond)

Now, I do most of my shopping in Tulsa because I'm there more often. I've been to each of them. The OMAS sponsoring stores are all very good, but I have a close friendship with the owners of two. I usually spend all of my time there and don't get to spend time at other stores.

Aquarium Oddballs
Reef Revolutions

I hope I'm not considered a stranger at these places, but they are great stores, too.

Premium Aquatics
Ultimate Reefs

I must say, Premier Aquatics in Tulsa gets my money.

I have had great luck with the fish from there, and they told me they had rather Not let me take a fish I wanted, because it was questionable about its health (it went floor surfing).

They also took the predator fish I had in my wifes tank and gave me very fair store credit.

I also like the way they run the shop "husbandry wise".

They also seem to have a nice selection of critters most all of the time. If they don't have it, they will try and get it (as will most other shops).

Ok city I like several of them, Aquariums, ART's, Wet Pets, Exotic Aquatics.

And all of these will give pretty good advice in my opinion.

Thats my $.02 worth.

OK,

Before this gets out of hand, this forum is not for bad mouthing individual stores. Please refrain from doing so.

This is a club policy, and this is the club forum, please abide by this rule. In the past this has created problems for the club and I would like to avoid it doing so again

Thanks for your understanding,

paul.

No one, yet.

But this topic always degenrates into calling a local store, hence my post.

Since we have a lot of new members in the club right now, I just wanted to remind people of club rules/etiquette.

It wasnt a post pointed at any one person.

BabyB,

You need to make a day of checking out the LFS's in the OKC area. Get the map listed on the mycomas.com page and map out your day. You will have a good time meeting all the shop people and you will get a really good idea of who you will want to do business with and for what. Some shops are better for corals, others for fish and still others for drygoods. Go with a fun friend.
