Where does all this flesh come from?

My open brain. First picture, fully open in March 2013. Second and third pictures, fully open today, July 2013.

At night, when this is closed, it's about four inches by two inches. When fully open it's about ten inches by eight inches.

Some other happy corals.

I almost gave this one away, but when I started feeding roti-food I liked the color change. Also, at it's base is some kind of coral I thought was dead. Now it's color is brownish and you can see a thin flap of flesh flapping in the current when open during the day.

First picture, March 2013, Second picture July 2013.

Im assuming Mitosis? The cells that make up the flesh split and multiply allowing the coral/nem to grow.

Okay, where does all that 'Mitosis' go when it closes for the night? It's not flabby and pulls up pretty tight.

All kidding aside, I'm amazed at how much stretch these guys have and they don't have the stretch marks my twins left on me and they sure don't take as much time as I did to shrink back to a smaller size.

Its mostly water ;) But yeah, I had a brain that would triple in size when inflated. I thoguht it was going to pop!

There have been times when I thought mine couldn't get any bigger too. Sure takes up a lot of real estate. In my 150 g that wouldn't have been a concern, but in my 65 g that's a lot of the space.

I'm just amazed how big it's getting. It's even bigger than the pictures I took earlier. Hope this means it's happy.

I had mine in a 14, talk about lack of space!
