Where have I been??!!!

Hi everyone. I have been missing around these parts for awhile. I still have my tank and everything, despite my best efforts to ignore it, is still doing well and growing. I have been really busy the last few months trying to get a new music project off the ground. It has been so long since I have been in a band I forgot how much time it sucks away from other things. Anyway I just wanted to check in and tell you my reef and I are still alive and well. I will try to post some updated pictures soon. Until then check out the tunes my band just finished recording for our demo. BTW Vince (fatrip) helped me mix these tracks. Frag on!! :dance:

Yo, seriously dude, you guys rock!! Taking on the likes of Rush, Hendrix, Police, etc. takes some guts and serious talent. It has been a long time since I heard a band cover such challenging material and you guts really pull it off. Is that you on the drums? If so I would seriously suggest you consider quitting your day job. You have a talent. Now if you guys can write some original stuff and hit the road, you would be able to afford a monster reef!!! Way to go Nate!! Let us all know when you guys play out.

Thanks! I wish that was me playing the drums, haha!! Our drummers name is Luke Bernthon I am the lead singer and I play rhythm guitar (my guitar is the one panned to the right if you are listening closely).

We do have some originals but no bars want to hire bands that play original music and if they do they won't give you much if any money. Original music is really hard for people to get into at a bar so we decided to sell out and play mostly cover songs. We will probably still play a few originals if there is any demand for them. Here is a 5 song demo of our original stuff (note: These were recorded before we changed our band name from One Minute More to The Egomaniacs. All band members are the same except the bassist.)

Oh wow! I really didnt know what to expect when I clicked on the tom sawyer link. I was really pleasently suprised. Would you guys be interested in playing any bars in the Elmira area?

Haha! I am a rush fan as well. I remember the first CD I owned when I got my first CD player (this is when CD players first came out!) was Moving Pictures. I must have listened to that album over a million times by the age of 10. When I was a very little kid, probably 7 or 8, some of my best (and only) memories were going over to my uncle Danny's house and listening to him play Hemispheres from cover to cover, he is a killer bassist (both Danny and Geddy). I must say growing up around musicians and being exposed to good rock music as a kid definitely inspired me to play when I got older. I started playing guitar when I was 13 and was playing shows in bands when I was 16. My drummer started playing when he was 3. If I had only started 13 years sooner!!! Haha, his dad obviously was a drummer. My dad was a song writer/singer/guitarist in that order, just like me. The apple doesn't ever fall too far from the tree I guess...

Yeah I have been to a few agony hill shows. My g/f and I are probably gonna head out to the tank to see you guys in sept. Just make sure theres a few rush songs in there haha.
