Where is My Diamond Goby

I haven't seen him since the first day that I put him in the tank. That was 5 days ago. What do you think happened to him?

Not uncommon for them to hide while they construct a safe burrow. Be patient and carry on as usual. You can check the floor behind the tank and the overflow for him just to be sure.

He is nowhere to be found. Won't he starve if he doesn't come out to eat?

Anyone that has been in this hobby for any length of time has had numerous animals disapear. I have lost count on the fish and invertebrates that have vanished in my reef tanks over the years. It may be the most frustrating aspect of this great hobby. Sometimes one gets lucky and magically the animal reappears. Good luck.

Check your overflows?

I had the same thing happen to me with. Mandarin except I don't have an overflow so I was disturbed! I removed all my live rock and still didn't find him. My guess in my situation is that he died And was eaten by my cleaner crew. If you have an overflow I'd say check that and of not I guess this I something we have to get used to in this hobby. I somehow still have hope I might see him again! Good luck with your hunt!

Does your rock sit on the glass? If not well? Also I lost a Jawfish for a month before he started coming out during the day. The tank was full of Mysid shrimp which come out at night so being a natural hunter so did he until he ran out of them.
