Where to buy C-U-C?

I need to replenish my clean-up crew in the 92 gallon and luckily am centrally located so I have a few options of which way to head out after work tonight. Am I better off going to All Pets Club in Wallingford, Realm of Pets in Southington, Puppy Center in West Hartford, or Magic Pet in Wethersfield?

I already know what they have at APC - I'm there at least twice a week, but he doesn't have much of a CUC. I've never been to Magic Pet and have only been to Realm 3 times. Don't remember if PC stocks a lot of CUC..... which way should I go? (looking for snails, crabs, and a brittle star or two)

I am not sure about local LFS but my suggestion would be to visit reefcleaners, John will not steer you wrong and they have plentiful supply of everything you could want. I have ordered from them three times in the past 2 years and have never been disappointed. Good luck.

I use reefcleaners for the bulk of the CUC, but reefs2go.com has more interesting inverts. I have 250 ceriths, and nerites from reef cleaners, and 40 or so assorted, turbos, nessarius, astreas etc. from R2G

Thanks Guys..... I will definitely check out those websites right now and give them a try. I usually order stuff like that from Saltwaterfish.com but here's the problem (which will apply to the other online vendors as well): I like to be HOME to receive the packages containing livestock (otherwise it sits on my doorstep all day) and the only day I can take off from work in the next few weeks is this Monday. No one makes deliveries on Mondays (only Tuesday's through Saturdays) so I figured I'd go pick some up from a LFS this time.

My tank really needs replenishing soon and waiting a few weeks till I can order online wasn't my first choice. I'll definitely go to the sites, though, and see if I change my mind. (maybe I feel a migraine coming on the day of expected delivery?) :hmm3:

And regarding Appalachian Tails? Thanks for the tip - now I've got another fun stop to add to my LFS list!

Cultured Aquatic Life

Cultured Aquatic Life is a wholesaler / installation / maintanance company, but if you are a CTARS member Bob used to sell directly to you (in bulk kinda) and also do group buys for CTARS.

But I can't find seem to find any info for them on the CTARS site. It used to be in the members only section.

Maybe someone else knows more and can point you in the right direction to find them, or what their status is.

Good product, good price, good guy...

Hey Sue....I got most of my CUC from Puppy Center. I also went to Realm of Pets but they didn't have any Turbo snails which I needed at the time. Got a few ceriths and a crab there. But got the bulk of my snails and blue legged crabs from Joe at Puppy Center.

Things like that are easy enough to pick up locally. But I definitely like to shop online for others. I have a clam and a fish coming in the mail next week:dance:

Edit: The issue with Cultured Aquatic Life is that you usually have to order in bulk. So if you don't want that many it may be an issue. I had Bob's number but I misplaced it. You can email them and they get right back to you. Good customer service.

Actually I ws at Bob's once (Cheshire) picking up a goby and pistol shrimp, coupla years ago - for some reason I always forget about him! Thanks for the reminder. :)

(Picked up 20 snails and a brittle star at Realm tonight - refused to come home empty handed) :)

I've picked up some nice stuff at PC...hermits, snails, they had some huge brittle stars a week or two ago as well.
