Where to buy laminate in STL?

Where can I find laminate, like Formica, in STL other than the big orange box? The stuff is $50 there. Wondering if I can find it cheaper elsewhere...

thanks!

Go to Cabinets Flooring and more on Olive street road in U-City and talk to Angela. Tell her that Jerry Henry sent you over and she should hook you up with a good deal. They have laminate starting at 1.00/ft. I bought some maple 3/4" hardwood for like 2.78/sq.ft. and that was even prefinished. Check them out on the web and call or go by as they always have closeout quanities of different types that you can get very reasonable.

Awesome, thanks Jerry! Do they have plain white laminates there? I'm wanting to cover the top of my stand before I set the tank.

Here's a pic...

Dude I love the bracing that you are using for supprting your tank. It looks like you have a 2x4 box basically and that should support about 5,000 pounds the way that you have it. I always love to see people on here that over support their tanks to the point that they cannot even fit a sump of any size under it.

I have seen a very light white there before, if I were you I think I would just buy a quart of white dry-lock paint and paint it with that and be done with it. That is if the tank will cover the stand completely. If not then I would cover it with a laminate or even hardwood. Either way it won't cost you over $20-30 to cover it. When you cover it be sure and allow enough room around the edge for a nice frame molding to tie it all together. Or you could just use a 90^ molding and cut it at a 45.

Haha, Jerry. :D I have been known to over build you know. I'm either going to build myself, or have ART or somebody build me a sump that will fit. It's still a pretty big space, about 63" from leg to leg. I might bring the laminate down over the sides to cover the plywood. Just have to cut out for the plumbing and get it covered. Then the tank goes up! :)

Here's a pic of the finished top... You can see how far the floor is out as I'm experimenting with some bottom shelf ideas.

There is a place in St. ann on St. Charles rock rd. behind regions bank and next to biglots, they might have what you need and for cheap too. I cant think of the name sorry.

I ended up picking some up for relatively cheap at HD. I really didn't want to get it there but since it was close and I'm putting the tank in this weekend I had to get it done. Think it turned out pretty good. What do you think? :)

Looking good like it should.

thanks Jerry. :) I called your guys before I installed the laminate but they said they didn't stock any solid colors. Probably could have got it at a better price but I wish they would of had some in stock.

Looks sweet. LMK when you are ready to have a sump built. I can help you build it or build it for you...

Thanks BK. And thanks for the heads up about the sump. I might take you up on that offer. :)
