I'm originally from the Greenfield area, and planning to visit relatives there around 4th of July.

I was wondering if anyone could recomend somewhere in the Indy area where you could purchase Mag and/or Dow Flake at this time of year?

no where that i know of and believe me i looked. Also the new dowflake has a higher bromine rating then it did which is an unknown in the reefkeeping world. Bulkreefsupply is your best bet as you can just order it online.

I will ask the chemist across the way from our shop where to get it! He has chemical trucks rolling in daily I am sure he would know!

I called them. They do not seem to be the easiest company to make a purchase from.

Luckily I do have a business name, but they want a credit app before they will make a cash sale. I'm not sending it ahead of time. Hopefully they won't snoop to far when I lay cash on the counter.

I haven't been there in a couple years. I sent a lady their an e-mail and they had my 50 lbs bag order ready when i came by that day after work. They even took a fork lift to carry it out to my truck.....said it was company policy.

But a lot changes in a couple years. Looks like they have been bought by another company, brenntagmid-south. So i'm assuming some "standardization" went into effect...

Hope all goes well.

I just made a puchase from them. You had better have a company name going in there because of 9/11 they are strictly a wholesaler.

The Dow flake that they have is the older formula.

The Mag flake is made by the North American Salt company. Has anyone used this in a reef tank?

They didn't have the mag when i went there in '06. They did however sell to me w/o a business name, but was before they were bought by another company.
