Where To Buy Tank?

What are the options around for a glass 180g reef ready? I know the obvious AGA/Aqueon and Glass Cages, but who are some other glass tank builders, preferably in the midwest because of shipping etc... I'd love to buy an Aquarium Obsessed tank but I'm assuming shipping would be outrageous.

Haha, long time no talk! :) Well... bought a house so been doing a bit of remodeling and working in the yard alot. Just starting to plan for a new tank! Don't know if I want to go with an AGA or do something more custom. Clayton Pet deals the Visio line from AdvanceAquaTanks. Might be an option. Just wish there was a manufacurer in the midwest for custom glass stuff.
 
there's so many people selling their tanks right now, I would find it hard not to pick up a used one... Lot of bonuses that way too!
 
I know you said no AGA but have you seen their new line of deep tanks(36 inches wide) and offer low iron they are sweet .

I haven't seen them yet. Didn't see any info on them on their site. I'll look again, thanks!

If I went AGA I'd want the corner overflows verses the two stacks on the back wall. I think it's a cleaner look. Wonder how much more it would be to customize....

Agreed, Brett, I would prefer the back corners as well. Actually, I'd prefer external, but if they had to be internal, I'd prefer the corners.

the marine land tanks are nice, and they come in 3,4,5,and 6 foot lengths!.....I know that AT has a 200G RR in the 4' foot print. If you stop by, you can see it in person, I bet the 6 foot would look really good.

The glass makes a difference to! I know that there are 2 glass pieces on the counter at AT, one is starfire and the other regular glass you can see the difference in person.
 
yeah, that would be nice. That tank at AT really got my attention size-wise, but the price tag on it caused me wallet pains that took a long time to wear off. :eek2:

I don't remember the price, I just remember seeing the tank and thinking what great dimensions it had, then looking at the price tag and going :eek2: . I believe it was a complete setup, though, with stand and possibly canopy? I'm pretty sure it had glass tops that I wouldn't need. And I don't remember either, but the price quoted may have been with the shop's setup included (like live rock added in)? It's been something like a month or more since I was in there. I need to get back over that way anyway because I get my nori at a place near there and I'm running out.

Ok, I don't know if Brett got by there today or not, but I had to run some errands in Fairview anyway, and my foxface and purple tang were demanding more nori too, so I decided to make a quick pop into AT and check the price on this thing again. It's the 4 foot wide x 3 foot deep version that's drilled in both back corners. It was $2,200 for the tank, stand, and glass tops they had with it. That's the price the store has on it. I don't know if there is much mark up in that or if they're negotiable or what, but there you go as far as the price tag on that particular tank.
