hey guys,
I am looking to purchase an octo for my 55gal. I was wondering if anyone had some websites to where I can purchase one of these amazing creatures.

hey animal mother,
where did you tell him to go? i'm looking to put an octo in another 75 gallon that i'm getting. and the octo i have now took me like over a month to find.

That's a good price. All you can do is try it out and see. You might give them a call first and see if you can get a really small one. If it's from the west coast it is most likely O. bimaculatus or O. bimaculoides as they advertise it. These are cold water species, do best below 70 degrees, but can live in mid-70's. It's lifespan will be shortened from the warm water though.

Thanks for the help now I really dont know what to do I found a Blue Ring! I havent read enough about them yet to decide if I want a blue ring or not?

Just ask yourself this question:

Do you want an octopus that you can play tug-o-war with and possibly even handle or do you want an octopus that is capable of killing you on that one occassion when you forget and put your hand in the tank?

I have no experience with the dying from a blue-ring bite part, but hand-feeding a non-lethal octopus by hand is pretty darn cool.

Scratch it I just called Tom and have a pygmy on the way! Im gonna start off small! I hope he's a cool little fellow! Thanks everyone!

hummelincki is such an awesome choice, diurnal, interacts well and isnt afraid of me at all after 3 weeks, plus they dont get very big...less room needed, less food, less $. I love mine.

Yeah I miss my hummelinki. Very cool and always active when I was around.

My briareus is turning out to be really fun too, but she prefers late hours.
