Where to frag this hammer coral?

I bought this hammer fragment yesterday. As you can see, it's shaped like a V. I'd like to cut it and make it 2 separate heads. Where should I make the cut?

If you're determined to frag it, I'd make the cut at the bottom of the right-hand stalk, perpendicular to the axis of the stalk. Basically, right at the joint between the two.

I agree, right in the 'v.' The just trim the bottom to make it flat. It'll be easier to mount to rockwork or frag plugs.

Personally I would wait a couple months. Let it get some more meat to it and settle in to its new home. It sort of looks like it might be a fresh cut and since you just got it that also makes it sound like a fresh frag. It wouldn't hurt it to recover a little.

Thanks. I was planning on waiting anyhow, to see how much size it gets after a couple of weeks or so.
