Where to get actual live sand from around binghamton?

I just wanna give a huge thanks to Tony "Truebeliever" who helped me with the live sand and didn't charge me! I got a chance to see his unbelievable 120 gal the other day and it's nice to meet a fellow reefer! Also does anyone know where's the best place to get some more live rock? I bought some from creature comforts but is there another place besides that? I don't like going to petco because they charge based on size, whereas I can get a slightly better deal at cc, does anyone think nature's best would be any better? I've been meaning to go there to talk to Rick. Or should just suck it up and get some base rock?

if you've already got a decent amount of live rock, I'd just buy the $50 50Lb caribsea box o rocks. CC usually has them. I started my tank with 2 larger live rocks and the rest base rock.

Hello... it was nice meeting you too. And thanks for the kind words. If you need anything let me know. I'm glad to help where I can.

As for rocks you can check out Nature's Best on Rt 26 in Vestal Center. Most places charge by the pound. And ditto on what Piazzon said. If you have any LR in the system it will seed the dead base rock.

Good luck! And post pics and let us know how your build goes.

Nature tends to have a bit of LR.
On a sort-of side note, I have always wanted to start a tank with TBS rock just to see what kind of life you end up with. Has anyone here used them?

Not a problem Tony! I ended up picking up some more live rock and next I'm gonna get some base rock. I'll definitely post pics up! I'm working on a nano diy protein skimmer working on air, and it's pulling some nasty stuff out after just an hour! I'm having it sit in the tank right now but I'm gonna make a sump for it. I'll post pics of how this goes! btw guys do I have to keep stirring the sand? It's turning greyish and most people told me to just leave it alone. Whats a good sand stirrer for my 10g?

ABC Reefs in Solvay has nice live rock and right now they have lots. It might be a long drive for you tho'. It's near the state fairgrounds.
