where to get bulkheads?

Where can I find bulkheads, and the associated fittings? All the stores Ive been to have to special order things, but I'd like to see things/fit things together, since Im pretty new to all this DIY stuff. Anywhere in the bay area will be fine, thanks guys!!!

All About Fish in Concord has a few plumbing fittings, including bulkheads. If you need something specific/special, I'd just order it online.

i commute all over the bay area, so it doesnt really matter where the store is. but i guess if i were to pick one place, im in east bay most often, near emeryville.

is there any place that sells fittings that are not white? im looking for an elbow to act as the overflow that will be in the tank, so white would stand out like a sore thumb.

You can always paint the fittings with spray paint. Use the KRYLON fusion spray paint. It is reef safe after you let it dry for a few days.

I can't help much on Eastbay stores, but http://www.Savko.com/ is one of the best places to buy fittings online. http://www.plumbingsupply.com/ is my second favorite, they stock all the wierd stuff that is hard to find.

You can also try Harrington Industrial Plastics in Fremont. Or is it Hayward? I go to the Sunnyvale and San Carlos locations so I'm not sure. They have every sch80 part you can think of. They are just a little pricey. Other than that Ewing is great also. I don't know about east bay locations.

I suggest checking LFS first for bulkheads. If they don't have what you need, go online. For regular PVC products, go HD, Lowes and OSH. ACE hardware has good selection too. I can only find PVC gate vavle in OSH though.
