hey all,

kinda newbie question, but some frags are coming off which i want to mount, wondering where to get frag plugs and whats a cheap price? where do people buy, locally (do all stores have?) or online? also, whats a good price? thanks.

Wow, ask Gresham about this one! ;)

However, there are many options;
1) Plastic wall anchors (might be pricey)
2) Nylon bolts (might be pricey)
3) Make some out of aragocrete
4) Use river rock from a craft store
5) Plastic golf tees
6) Buy a big piece of base rock and chisel off chunks
7) etc, etc....

wow, vincerama, didn't know i could use all those different things.. i remember seeing a thread about making my own frag plugs out of concrete and argonite, but busy until the summer and just looking to do quickly.

and thanks dswong, at this point i'm going down to NAA this weekend. do you know about how many in a bag?

really, cheaper than making your own? wow, haven't looked into it, but just assumed the DIY was cheaper..

also, is there anywhere online thats cheap for frag disks/plugs?

those are realy expensive. I bought some sprinkler head filters for about $0.10 each, the same I I have seen on the frags that we got from Ming at Atlantis. They fit perfectly into egg crate, but need to be weighted/filled with something to counteract their bouyancy (used used argonite to fill them :))

Our good friends in tonga seem to be using nylon bolts. Not sure what size.

Just took a quick peek at the McMaster-Carr website and they list 3/8 X 2" nylon bolts for $7.15/25 part number 91244A632

I'm sure there are a lot of other suppliers and I don't know the dimensions of the bolts they are using "over there"
