where to get frags in jacksonville?

hey guys,
fight nicely, lol i got the point there's alot of good places to visit in jax. but does anyone have frags and a home reef i can visit?

Carrie(Ssweet1) offered the Kenya & Xenia Frags. I can arrange to get them for you. Also, We have 3 reefs in our home and you would be welcome to visit while you are here. Send me a PM and I'll give you my number if you are interested.

that's what i'm looking for not that i'm not going to support the local lfs but meeting other locals and getting something different is always cool,unfortionatly i just lost about 20 frags from my sump do to a baffle breaking free and the water level got to low while i was at work that day.

My Wife and I are always glad to meet other Reefers and love to share what we can. I agree that you should also see almost all the stores in our area as each one is unique in their own way. Some have things others don't etc. We are blessed with many good stores.

I might be able to arrange visits to other club members own tanks while you are here as I am friends with several.

Who are you talking about ? If it's Atlantis Aquariums, the answer is no.

Umm...why not just create a messageboard on the nfmas site? There is probably a messageboard that comes with the hosting....

And that way...when we ask questions...that we honestly want answers to ( the point of asking the question ) ... we don't have to worry about getting our LFS owners banned from answering questions on other boards on here... just because they are trying to be helpful and answer our questions....

If enough local clubs follow this, and possibly leave ReefCentral, maybe ReefCentral will realize that local clubs really appreciate their LFS owners taking the time to come on here and answer questions...and that we'd like all of the club members to benefit from the answers, instead of 'requiring' the LFS owner to answer the question in a PM that no one else can see....

I can understand banning such posts in the main messageboards...but these boards are under Reef Club Forums... it would seem obvious to me...that we the Reef Club Members...would like to ask our LFS owners questions and have the answers avail. for others to see...otherwise..whats the point of posting them here...we could just call and ask....but then no one else would benefit from the information.

Yeah...I know what you mean...I just figured thats an idea since Lageo is doing the site over...he could add a messageboard...then we just wouldn't have to worry about it...

Plus ... it's just a silly policy in the first place. If I was at a LFS this week...and saw something I liked... but the owner wasn't in...and I wanted more info on it... and thought others in the club would benefit from it..they wouldn't be able to answer the question on the board..just in a PM..which is silly.

Agreed.

I would like to take it farther and say that a LFS can't be a mod because of the unfair advantage. Maybe when Lageo is a little farther a long he can set up a message system. Looks like the Orlando club is going that route.

If you were familiar with the old "A A" store on Atlantic Blvd, they had a huge 750 tank in the front by the door. That thing was a "ROYAL PAIN". It was sold to the Rev. RJ Washington at the Harvest Dome Church. He has it in his office.

That would really depend on the individual. Some people can be fair & balanced regardless.

If I were an LFS owner or an actual employee of one I would be sure to show no bias toward anyone just because in this area we have so many great stores.

I shop at Atlantis, Bio-Reef, Ocean Reef & others quite often. I can and have said good things about them all. There are a couple of exceptions in the area but I don't talk bad about them because most people know the stores I am thinking of and don't shop there themselves.

The ones I don't shop in I just remain silent about because I can't speak from personal experience.

Hence the problem with open posting and the need for RC rules. Unfortunatley people argue and things are biased one way or the other. Everyone has there opinons, which is great, but not great for promoting or advertising when in competetions with other LFS, that may or do get offended for one way or another.
