Hey everybody, my 125g reef looks pretty empty after i upgraded from a 65g and Im ready to get some more live rock. All the LR at the LFSs around doesnt look too great so I need some websites that sell good rock. . . hopefully at a good price too!

thanks

check on craigslist. i am sure someone private sells fiji at $2-3 per pound (no taxes).

i got 150 pounds of fiji for $2 a pound ($300 total). Can't beat that!! ;)

I got 100lbs through ebay and I was VERY pleased... amazing growth and all large pieces... Here is a pic when I first got it:

I bought my live rock from www.toofishy.com I drove to their store in PA. I got all sorts of coral, snails, plants, etc... but that's just because I cherry picked through A LOT of live rock. It was a long drive, but in the end it was worth it.

Justsomeguy, Im thinking about ordering from toofishy.com. Do you think that for the most part the selection looked good? Or were most of the rocks lifeless and you had to search for the good stuff. Im very apprehensive about ordering live rock online after seeing the selection at my LFS but for 100lbs of rock the overnight shipping is only going to cost $30 to MD which is looking better than a 3 hour drive.

Live Aquaria is a good source. They have excellent quality rock and some of the best prices and selection I've seen.

Florida aquacultured rock. Tampa Bay Saltwater. I saw a large load of rock form gulf-view.com, another site, this past week. No need to buy anything, except a tank for the cast offs. Covered in oysters, clams, sponges, cup corals and macro algae. The cast offs were 1 mantis and a very large whelk.

Hey we've got about 250lbs of LR sitting around... My roommates setting up a 180 and we're not going to use it all. You can buy some for $3.50/lb if youre interested.

Itll be ready to go in 2-3 weeks after the 180 is set up.

Your PMs are off but you can email me at michael.asimenios at gmail

Its all good looking rock. no crappy shapes/etc. We're located in Catonsville just south of Baltimore

i say tampa bay saltwater has the best LR. Tons of life on the rock. Check out their forum on here.
