Where to get peppermint shrimp?

Do you think its possible for my peppermint shrimp to eat all my aiptasias in the first night I added them to the tank??? today is the second day I see NONE of my aiptasia, and the zoas that they came in on are completely open again.

fwiw, I will not order from saltwaterfish ever again. Last 2 shipments were horrible- last one basically everything died including the peppermint shrimp which were incredibly small.

Will they honor their 14 day guarantee? Was it all inverts?

Has anyone had experience getting fish from them?

I was just reading a post somewhere where everyone was complaing on the lack of care SWF.com takes with there livestock. They have NO contact number incase of shipping problems. And they are very slow with responding to e-mails and you'll be lucky if you get the answers you want. I don't know where it was though, I know it was on this forum however.

I ordered my original cleanup crew from them and have no complaints. I have not ordered anything else since then. They have a strict 14 day policy but they send extras so if a snail or crab happens to die its not a hassle geting your money's worth. Not that the money is the issue over poor treatment at SWF but.....

Kris- between 2 orders it was both fish and livestock. I don't have a single shrimp from the last order alive after 5 days, and a clown gobie was doa. Using credit with them is a real pain, IMO. And to be honest- there was a mix up on the last order and I was sent 2 $35 shrimp instead of getting the one I wanted that was a credit for a doa. I was charged for the second, and I know I probably didn't do it correctly. but when I brought it up, they were pretty unresponsive or accomidating in any means, so I just decided never to spend money again there. FWIW, I don't feel bad about it- as there are plenty of other vendors. They have a lot of fish on their lists, that IMO shouldn't be offered.

fwiw,
I just ordered from etropicals.com part of F&S. Shipping is free on a "build your own" package of $60 or more. They only have carribian stuff- no trochus snails, but plenty of other stuff. Peppermint shrimp are $3.40 each I think.

I've always been tempted to order from Saltwaterfish.com

From michaelg's experiences and reading other feedback on them, I will now steer clear of that place.

The fact that thier main contact is through email and with no contact phone # Also spooks me. Just goes to show you that a good thing is always to good to be true. I'm sure you have saved us from some serious headaches. I almost ordered some fish and inverts from there.

I will stick with Liveaquaria. Everyone raves of the extra care taken in thier shipping methods and how good their live stock looks.

Maybe at some point we can get a group buy together from there and save on the shipping. Hard to organize I'm sure. I've seen other clubs have success with it.

Sorry for you loss Michael. Hopefully they will give you more credit for the shrimp or a refund and make things right in some way.
