im also looking at some Sunburst or "Fathead" Anthias. does anyone know where to get some in town or is that something i'd have to go to the bay for? i been looking for the black clowns as well... seen them at your reef a couple of weeks ago but i wasn't ready yet. but they are out now.

im thinking of 2 fathead anthias and 2 black percs for my 24nano w/ my rbta. what do you guys think? ofcourse pick up some zoos and maybe some xenia :D

Hey Max,

Nice Fish...:D :D :D

Do you have a full tank pic...For some size perspective...

Wow did it really only take 10 minutes for that tomato to host in that RBTA...

Tell me how everything goes...But so far it looks good...At least he has a better home now instead of my cold sump with mr. maroon clown as his neighbor...

The sunburst is my elusive unicorn fish, I have had a few but they don't last and they are one of, if not my favorite fish. Love the coloration on them!!!

My experieces as of yet:

The don't do well in collection and suffer from swim bladder problems.

They are a finicky eater that makes a lyretail seem "easy"

They are not a schooling fish and one per tank as compared to others.

Any aggressive fish will stress them, hence me really wanting to get rid of that dotty I had.

Not a big fan of bright light and may hide.

Make sure they are eating in the store for best success, I had two that just won't eat anything.

O st gets them regularly. I am sure your favorite store could find one for you if you asked. Good Luck and keep me posted....one of these days I am going to figure this guy out.

Sunburst anthias are definitely for experienced fish keepers. They're not cheap either. I had a nice pair for a few months. They were actually eating flakes. One night saw one with ich, the next day they disappeared never to be seen again. They are definitely picky eaters and not very hardy.

yes, that tomato hosted it the rbta in like 0 minute. once i threw him in, he went straight to it. he was wanting to go to it when i put that container to acclimate him. once i set him loose it was all his.

as for the anthia; it sounds to be very challenging. i will have to wait it out until my tank is better it sounds like. thanks for all the inputs and i stop by Ost prolly every 2 weeks or so. i'll keep an eye out for them there. thanks agian.

Speaking of looking for fish I am looking for a Seagrass Wrasse (Novaculichthys Macrolepidotus).

Now that is one odd species to be actively searching for. Why this fish?
