Where to mount base unit?

Where is everyone mounting their APEX base unit? In the stand, outside the stand, behind it, above it, etc...? I'm trying to figure out where to put it, but the only place that makes sense is in the main section of my stand above my sump. I am worried about corrosion and whatnot. Are my fears justified or no?

My display is under the DT but everything else is in the fish room.

Not having a fish room mine is just where you describe it; inside the stand above the sump. My two EB8s, PM2 and I/O breakout box are also located in different locations within the stand. So far, so good, but I've only had it a few months.

I build all my stands with electronics in mind. Away from salt, out of sight when not needed, easily accessed when necessary. You could probably retrofit an existing stand to have a similar electronics bay.
