where will corals do better?

I have a 12G nano cube, and a 30G hex tank, I was wondering if I had 48W of PC lighting, the same on both tanks. What one will corals do better in? does it matter? thanks

They'll do better in the 12 nano, because that is shorter than a 30 hex. More light will get thru the water. The "watts per gallon rule is no good, specially for pc. You could have a 20 gallon tank w/300 watts of pc...but if the tank is like 40 inches high (not that i've ever seen anything like that tho lol..just an example) no light will be getting to the bottom, tho you'd still have over 15 watts per gallon or whatever.

so use it on the shorter one.
