As for powerheads, Tunze's are prolly the most electrically efficient (also cost a small fortune). Seio are prolly the easiest out of the box high-flow powerheads out there. Maxijets are dirt cheap but not that great, unless you mod them . Magnet holders are always better than suction cup holders, so if you can afford it, buy the magnets

I used Tropic Marin. Get it from Drs Foster & Smith and there is no extra charge for weight.

Get some Maxijet 1200's. The Seio's are more expensive and IMO don't give the amount off the amount of circulation.

I have recently bought 2 of the Hydor Koralia 4's and love them, best powerhead for the money hands down!

I have 2 "2"'s; one in a tank in my bedroom, one in my frag tank.

I really like the mounting system; it's the best of the "Stream" style powerheads out there.

They look cool. Neat, modern, aerodynamic design.

Cons:

They're big. Almost as big as my Tunze's. With a lot less flow (But cheaper).

They're unproven. I got two from Dr's Foster & Smith, their second batch in. They seem well built, but who knows how long they'll last.

Truthfully, I'd save my pennies for a Stream. They're OK for "Back-Office" kinda work, but I'm a little partial to Tunze. It's not only flow, it's reliability, rebuildability, customer service, and operational cost. If you add all that up, they're tough to beat....

I can take pics if you'd like of one, give you a size comparison... I'll be back in town on Friday night, if you'd like.

A lot of positives on the ones you posted. They consume about the same as the tunze and they can be upgraded to push more flow (approaching maximod flow)

I use Instant Ocean saltmix and Maxi Jet 1200 powerheads.
I can't seem to remember where I get them, though...

I would get tunze nanostream 6025s. They are very nice pumps and yesterday I grew to like them even more. They push around 700 gph (they underrated when making them) Also, they can be modded very easily to push over 1100 gph. They are about $65. I would get two and mod them both. They are incredible. I will be modding mine soon. I use instant ocean salt.
