Where's my blues......

Here's my parameters below. Thanks for the help and let me know if you need anything else.

My parameters are as follows:
Alk-9.2 (Hanna)
Calc-380-400 (Salifert)
Mag-1350 (Salifert)
Phos-.01 (Hanna)
Nitrate-.2 (Salifert) this is possibly on the high side as it is hard to tell the exact color
Salinity- 1.025
Temp-79-80

Lights are T5 (8 bulb) with new bulbs.

How do you control ALK/CA? Reactor? Dosing Pumps?

A lot of these threads on color fading when P04 is low is attributable to fluctuations in ALK on a daily basis.

hmm interesting. I to am not very "happy" with some of my blues. my Alk fluctuates by in a day .4dkh a day. (but nothing day to day)

Your params look fine. What bulb combo are you running?

If I remember correctly it is as follows:

Back
Coral+
Purple+
Blue+
Blue+
Midday
Blue+
Purple+
Coral+

I run BRS dosing pumps. I dose every hour of the day in small amounts to keep my parameters as stable as possible.

Thanks for all the input.....and keep the suggestions coming!

I'm doing the same as you, but our alk/calc aren't used equally threw out the day. Next time you get a chance text before your lights come on, and right after they go off.

well I typically try to test the same time of day everyday to get the most consistant reading and that time is around 7-8pm and I have been getting a reading of around 9 (tested with a Hanna Checker)

With that said should I change my timers to dose during the "daylight" hours?

I would take a measurement right before your lights turn on, then one right after the lights turn off. This will allow you to determine how much you need to dose to maintain a constant level.

I do the same as well. I get the same results day to day, but when I look within a day I have movement in my dkh.
