wheres the best place to buy a tank?

the stores with the most volume will usualy have the best deals.

Thanks Rogger, but Im looking to upgrade my non reef-ready 75 into a reef-ready 90 that I plan to drill and put in a spraybar and closed loop

Actually Barrier Reef used to have great prices on tanks. I bought my 120 there about 5-6 years ago.

Haven't priced them since, but they were cheapest, believe it or not.

When I bought my 90 I priced them just for sh*ts and giggles. They wanted $300. I paid $220 at big als. Pet world also had it for $220 or 230. But I dont like them much.

Also when I bought my nano cube from barrier reef them wanted me to sign something which said that the tank was free of leaks. The lights on the nano did not work and barrier reef did not want to swap it. It was only a week since I had bought it. I had to get JBJ, the maker of the nano cube, to make them swap it.

They told me that if that one did not work that they would not swap it again. There were also very rude. Imagine that. Someone comes in as a new customer, makes a purchase that says "hey I am going to need to buy more stuff here" and there rude.

It takes a lifetime to get a customer but only a minute to loose one.

went to alot of fish stores looking for the best price on the 90. I drive alot for my job which allows me break time which I take at a LFS when I see one. Big Als had the best price on the tank. They were even nice to help me put it in my car. 2 of the sales associates bet $10 as to if the tank would fit in my Mini Cooper. It fit.

Armando....I found that Big Al's was about $50 cheaper when I bought my 75RR tank than any other LFS

Barrier Reef gave me a much better price on my 210 than anyone else. It was cheaper than a 180 at Big Al's. I know they have a standard 75g for 89.99 that is not bad, I bought one and used it as a sump. You have to catch them when they say the distibuter is having a sale and you can get a very good price.
