Where's the blue Acan?!

I saw some gorgeous blue Acans online. I ordered one and it was brown. Disappointing! Is this normal?

What light was it under on the site? Spectrum can have a huge effect on the appearance of corals. If you just got it, it's probably stressed from shipping as well. Give it a few days to puff up and color up.

+1 for different lighting (e.g., photographed under MH and you have T5)

Also, did you buy a WYSIWYG coral? If not, you might be able to contact the seller.

That's just it Daddy, I did buy a WYSIWYG, except what I got was brown, not blue. So it was more of a WYS-is-sorta-like-WYG. I called he guy and asked him if he used Photoshop. He said yes, but only to correct the color. :worried: I'm going to play around with my spectrum and see what happens.

Blue Acans are usually brown Acans under blue lighting, do you have the pic for it still?

I would point out the name of the photo has "edited-1" in it, but that isn't really very nice of me.

I'd just ask him what kind of lighting was on when the photo was taken, looks like possibly antics or a lot of UV Spectrum.

Wow, there's not even any white light in that picture, what a scammer... You may wanna post a review in the vendor experiences section so people know to avoid this guy. You can ask him for a partial refund, otherwise you can always file a claim with your credit card company for an item not even remotely as described and they'll give you a refund and have you mail it back.

Yup, when you see actinic only pics its usually to hide the true color. Its very important to read or ask what type of lighting is being used. Most online vendors light with 20k because it makes the colors in the photo more appealing. When you take pictures under 20k and white balance, the colors become saturated without the use of Photoshop. I wish more online vendors shot pictures under 14k so people aren't duped.
