which 175 watt MH for magnetic ball.

Hi I was running 175 watt 10,000 hamilton's on a magnetic ballast. Is there a better bulb I can try that will work with the magnetic ballast? Thanks.

Chinese bulbs like the Hamiltons, XM's, or coral vues will work best on your ballast. Many of the German bulbs now new a pulse start ballast for optimum bulb life. Are you looking for more par, different color, or something else?

I am looking for something with a little color. I was thinking maybe hamilton 14K or the aqualine's. Or should I just better off going back to the good old hamilton 10,000K true german bulbs. I am kind of interested in those aqualine (13)K

The Aqualine are a very white bulb. They're listed as 13K but they're crisp white, with no noticeable blue to my eye. The 14k hamiltons or the 15k XM's will have a much bluer tint. 10000k will have more PAR, so better growth, but your colors will pop more with a higher Kelvin rating.
