Which 250w bulb should I get for my Magnifica / Ritteri?

I have a 250w MH bulb right now that is a 20,000K. Do I need to change it to another bulb?

What bulbs do you have your magnificas under?

ushio 14k the power of the 10k with no yellow.

Yep, definitely don't want any yellow. Is there any big difference that switching to a 14K from a 20K would make to my polyps? I don't have any corals in the tank with the mag, just some button and glove polyps.

what 20k do you have , how old is it?

i would acclimate with screens either way, the ushio 14k is a bright bulb.

I have an SPS Blue Life. It's a couple of months old. I have a piece of acrylic between the tank and the fixture.

Hopefully the polyps won't be a problem in terms of allelopathy with the anemone. If I recall correctly, certain polyps are especially problematic, much more so compared to sps coral.

I had a SE XM 10k and it was fine, when i switched to a hamilton 14k it started moving around.
