Went with phoenix because I dind't want any other supp. lamps. Seemed to be the best all around color, brightness and par at a reasonable price.It's given me good results, only knock is it's not the longest lived bulb. I change mine out around 9 months, I know others have gone longer, maybe they can chime in..HTH

Remember bulb color depends on more than the bulb. Ballasts make a difference on the color, water clarity also makes a difference. A 14K bulb on one person's tank may look different than the same bulb on your tank.

phoenix definitely for me with no supplemental lights.
Perfect blend of color and light.

It took 4 or 5 sets of other ones before I finally found these.
