Which anemone needs stronger lighting?

Well I will let that question rest and wait to hear what other people think. I know phender has great experience with carpets.

No, I wouldn't put any carpet under PC's. Many even struggle with them under MH. I would go with the BTA. Cooler than a Condy and there are many types of clowns who will host the BTA. It simply gives you more options.

I agree. In fact I think I am upgrading my lighting to T5s which that could support a carpet. But a BTA is cooler imo for hosting clowns just because you can barley see a clownfish when its hosting in a BTA.

Chuncks, I would have to get rid of my Condy to get a BTA right?

Yeah, besides MH, I think they are my best bet down the road. I might consider VHO but its too much work to setup.

Yes, you need a canopy and an individual ballast. I wish VHO came in one lightings sytem like PC or T5s.

T5s are superior to VHO or PC.

MH is run on a external ballast, was that an option?? a lot of the T5 setups are run on a DIY set up, with external ballast(not conceled in the fixture).. i personally like the DIY set-ups, a lot cheaper and designed the way you want it..

I have kept S. Haddoni and Ritteri under t5's, but I haven't and wouldn't with S. Giganteas (I have only kept them under 400's) unless I had a really shallow tank. My Ritteri got too big, but it colored up and grew. The Haddoni's did well too, but ate too many of my fish.

I just stick with BTA's now :D

I would never go with a Gigantea. I am not that experienced. lol. I was talking about the S. Haddoni.

I don't want to get rid of my Condy though, thats the problem. I want to get a BTA (because it looks cooler when a clown hosts it). I would like a carpet but it would probably eat too much of my fish (wait a sec, I do have a Condy, I should be worried about that too.).

Any suggestions on what to do?

id go with what you want.. i have kept all of the anemones you have thought of keeping.. neon green bubble tips, S. haddoni, RBTA, GBTA, H. Magnifica(tents and clown in my avatar is H. Mag).. my favorite is my H. Mag. and with my pair of ocellaris.. followed very closely by my green Haddoni and saddleback pair.. its so interesting to watch a clown in the anemone.. i have not had any problems so far with my haddoni eating fish, though i wish he would eat those damsels!! but again go with what you want, thats what will be best in the long run, because they live for a long time..with proper care of course..

I know. Thats the thing. I like my Condy a lot despite the fact he was 6 bucks. I don't go by price but by satisfaction. I would probably be much more satisfied with a BTA and my future pair of tomatos hosting it. I only have one female tomato at the moment but soon to be two. Can't wait to see what happens.
