i have a 56G with 234w T5. i wanted to buy an anemone for my maroon clown because of thinking of buying a smaller one so they can pair up. the problem is, i have heard that anemones can kill corals next to them and my tank is full of corals. will that be a problem if i add a nem or no? and if not which one would go best for my setup and the maroon clown? thanks.

I WOULD THINK YOU COULD DO A NICE GREEN BUBBLE TIP ANEMONE OR A RED BUBBLE TIP ANEMONE.THEY ARE THE SAME ANEMONE BUT THEY ARE 2 DIFFERENT COLORS.IF YOUR TANK IS FULL OF CORALS THEY ANEM ONE WILL NEED TO BE PLACED WERE THERE IS NOT ALOT OF CORALS IF YOU HAVE ANY PLACE LIKE THAT.IF YOR TANK IS FULL OF CORALS THEN YOU MAY WANT TO THENSOME OF THEM OUT.DONT THEN THEM OUT IN THE AREA THET YOU WANT THE ANEMONE BECAUSE MORE THEN LIKELY THE ANEMONE WILL MOVE FROM THE SPOT THAT YOU FIST SET HIM IN.IF THE ANEMONE MOVES BU A CORAL THEN I WOULD ASK YOU TO MOVE THE CORAL OUT OF THE ANEMONES WAY THEY WAY THE ANEMONE WILL NOT HARM ANY THING IN THE TANK.THIS SOUNDS VERY HARD BUT ONCE YOU HAVE THE HANG OF IT YOU WILL THINK TIS IS VERY SIMPLE.

the thing is, i would move my corals around but many of them have grown onto the area around them so i can't move them with cutting or tearing part of it. i have all soft corals. thanks for the help. i guess i will get one when i upgrade my tank.

+1 on BTA. Find a good spot depending on your lighting and let them have a little crevice they can shoot in to. If you find them a good spot, they wont move. It also has a weak sting.

It may have a weak sting as far as it stinging a person, but they do have a strong sting and will damage other corals easily.

Many years ago a clone of one of mine moved around, and stung the heck out of my Haddoni ---- which have a pretty strong sting.

i will try to find a rose or green BTA around my area. hopefully it will find a spot quick and stay there. thanks for the help.

BTA will work...I'm surprised your marroon doesn't knock all the corals over like mine used to.

no my maroon doesn't bother anything in the tank that has been in there before it. i added a domino damsel (which eventually got too aggressive that i had to give him away) and it bullied it for awhile but stopped but it never touches my inverts or corals.

im not saying BTA's dont have a weak sting, they just have one of the weakest stings of anemones. BTW i dont think there are any anemones in reef tanks that sting you that you can feel.

From my experiences (( which I mentioned above )) I am going to have to disagree.

Have you ever touched a Haddoni? I can for sure feel their sting.
