I have a 125 dt with a 30 sump. I am looking for a skimmer. Its for a heavy stocked mixed reef. I was looking at the coneS skimmers but don't know which one, will the CO-2 will be big enough. I have looked at reef octopus and skimz but I keep coming back to the aquamaxx. Thoughts, Suggestions

Thanks

it should be plenty big, maybe too big for your sump?
I have the EM200 on a 135 w/50 sump and it's plenty.

Is the cone series better than the em series. My sump is wide open but if I ever decided to add a fudge the space savings would be a must.

the CO-2 is something like 15" long in the sump. I didn't have room for that.
If you can fit the CO-2 go for it - it is probably easier to service and clean than the EM which has the pump internal.

I got the EM200 as well and its going through its break-in period now. Its quiet and produces a lot of microbubbles.

Hi Alf1096,

The ConeS CO-2 would be great for your aquarium. As others are noted, it would be plenty for a 125.

Both the CO-2 and the EM-200 are awesome skimmers. The CO-2 does have a bigger foot print due to the pump being on the outside. However, this also means that the CO-2 has a slightly larger reaction chamber and the pump is easier to clean: as you don't have to disassemble the skimmer to get to the pump.
