which camera to get for christmas..

hey all ok so my parents are getting me a camera for christmas..i plan on it being a point and shoot type digital camera just so it can be portable as well..
I have been reading alot of reviews and most people have actually had alot of bad reviews on the new nikons and canons..i was thinking about the panasonic 14megapixels with 8xzoom or the sony 12megapixel with 4x zoom..the prices are around the 140$ range..my parents really didnt give me a price range just as long as they are getting the most for their money...:lol:

if anyone can tell me about their cameras or some info about some of the cameras..

also fujifilm point and shoot style cameras had some very good reviews...thanks:jester:

if you plan on using it for taking pictures of your tank.. i would suggest a SLR... that way u can pick up a macro lense and take some up close detailed photos of you tank. Canon T2i is an excellent SLR for a great price. u can get a package deal for around $800 right now with a good lense. or $650 for the camera body by itself and pick and choose a good macro lense u like...
