which clam would be better?

I want to get either a t. derasa or t. squamosa clam.
I have a 29 gallon tank, with coralife compact fluorescent lights, 130 watts total. I wanted to get a derasa because they are supposed to be the easiest, but i think it would get wayyy to big for my tank. squamosas are easy too right? but they require more lighting.
which one do you think i should get?
by the way in a couple years i am planning on upgrading to a bigger tank so maybe the size of the clam shouldn't be too big of an issue.

also how much lifestock is too much to add to my tank at one time?
i am thinking of adding:
a hectori goby
either a yellow watchman goby or yasa hashe goby
a randall's/red banded pistol shrimp
3-4 hermit crabs
2-4 snails (various species)
a zoa "frag" (5 polyps)
a six line wrasse
a royal gramma
3 emerald mithrax crabs (need to get rid of some bubble algae)
a sally lightfoot crab

however at the same time i am setting up a refugium with 3 mangroves and some chaeto

all of these would be added at once is because im placing an order online.

so is that too much at once? or should i be ok?
oh and is that too many fish for my tank? i also have a black&white occelaris clownfish and a yellowtail damselfish

thanks!

i've really only ever seen one clam under PC's and it was as high up in the tank as possible, literally right below the water surface directly under a bulb.

as for your pending additions: how long has your tank been setup? how long have you had the damselfish in the tank? they can be quite aggressive once they've established a territory.
I also wouldn't add the Sally Lightfoot, they get big and aggressive -- have been known to take fish. Your other inverts should be fine to add at once (in an established tank). 3 fish at one time in a 29, could be a bit much.

You can't get your livestock locally, so that its easy to space out?

I wouldn't put any clams under only 2 65watt pc bulbs if it were me. As for your addition list I strongly agree with divewsharks about spacingout the fish additions and about the sally. 5 fish at once in a 29gallon no matter how established and how small the fish are is asking for trouble. IMO 6 fish in that tank would be TOO much as it is. Also the 3 gobies would probably have disputs over territory even with being added at the same time.

well there are local fish stores, its just ordering online is MUCH cheaper. I can probably get the royal gramma at the LFS and the hector's goby there also if i need to.
would the shrimp goby, the sixline, and the hector's goby be ok at once? or should i cut it back to just a shrimp goby and the sixline?

not getting a sally lightfoot crab really isn't a big deal, so i guess that's off the list.

my tank has been set up for a little less than two and a half years. Also i have a lot of live rock in the tank (if that even matters). I think I've had the damsel for at least a year now but he doesn't seem to be all that aggressive (but i did get the clown before the damsel so maybe that's why).

As for the clam, I was told at the LFS that a derasa or squamosa would do ok in my tank as long as they are up high, don't get too much flow, and i feed them regularly. But now i'm unsure about that

Sixline wrasse get real territorial and aggresive as well, just to let you know. I think they are the demon childs (damsel) cousin!!

Realize that any of these clams in your tank are temporary, they will outgrow it in a few years time with the proper care. And, not enough light in my opinion.

I've tried several clams in my 55g under PC lighting. They do not thrive IME, and I've ended up moving them into my other tank. Upgrade your lighting if you want a clam.

hmmm ok then. I guess no clam for me.
and yeah sorry about the 5 posts! i have no idea what happened. is there any way to delete the others?
