yeah, the percs have more of a darker color

I don't think the previous post is quite correct. I find that mature Percula have brighter orange, darker and more black. Ocellaris have minimal black but muddier orange rather than the bright orange of Percula. There are exception to the rule but not often

I will agree with that, and I prob. worded my statement wrong, my Ocellaris is fairly dark. I should stop posting when i have been awake for 24 hours lol

I personally like perculas better. I think they look best as adults. Baby ocellaris are really bright and colorful but they tend to get a little muddy in color as they grow IMO.

shifty's Ocellaris are the usual Ocellaris, healthy and well care for.
Here is a picture of an Percula that I got from LA. A typical run-of-the-mill Percula.
Percula took much longer to developed. The white pattern and the coloration. They are also a little more aggressive. and it is harder to raise them in group without a lot of damage to the fish. Due to this reason, most mass breeder tend not to breed Percula. They are more expensive, but worth it IMO.

So many clown types out there it is hard to not like them all for one reason or another. Since you can only have a pair in most tanks pick ones you will be most happy with.

I went to a LFS about 5 hours from home because they had the best selection of clowns nearest where I live. I spent almost 2 hours looking at over 20 different types/colors and finally settled on a mated pair of Mocha clowns and couldn't be happier. In the end it was a compromise between cost and beauty, cost can be anywhere between $30 a pair to $400+, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the size of his wallet
