which depth of pump is the best ?

I have got my 6000 pumps and 7094 controller, but I want to know which depth is the best for pump to mount? The depth of water is about 20 to 22 inch in my tank (not include sand bed)

I suggest , that top of the pump is aproximatly 5 to 10 cm below water surface. You will get both:
- nice waves on the water surface and
- strong water movement in the aquarium

When I placed my pump 6100 , I wanted to have waves also on the water surface, because this looks very nice. So I placed pump very close to surface, but pump sometimes sucked water from the surface, so I have to place pump little lower., but 10 cm below water surface is enough to prevent water sucking.
