Which fish for a 10gal at the office?

I just upgraded from a 4 gal to a 10 gal and I would like to add a fish. The concern is that the tank is at the office. I am at the office 9-5 M-F, but not on the weekends or long holiday weekends. Is there a fish that could survive these conditions or should I just keep it as a reef tank? TIA

Some of the aquacultured clowns tend to be hardy. A 10 gallon tank can have some wild ph/temp/SG swings if you don't stay right on top of it. Clowns are basically damsels which can tolerate some of the chemical drift that can take place in a small tank. I'd say a mated pair of clowns, a nice hunk of live rock, a few hermits/snails, and an anenomy or two... That's about it.

neon goby, six line wrasse, red hawkfish, possibly a mandarine (supplemented with pellets) or a domino damsels.
Just some suggestions, my fav. vote is the damsel.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. The office is temp. controlled, but I noticed in my 4 gallon that the evaportation over the weekend caused enough of a salinity change that my corals would be unhappy come Monday. I upgraded to a 10 gallon truvu which seems to be keeping the evaportation to a minimum. I'm using a modified penguin 170 for a fuge and a maxi-jet 600 with a hydor for flow. I have a 2x40 watt pc fixture on it and was thinking of trying an easy sps or two at the very top. Any suggestions on which sps?

Still my favorite for nanos. The Yasa Hashe Goby and matching Candy Stripe Pistol Shrimp. Awesome colors, symbiotic living that would be cool to watch and small size/ low bio-load are all reasons I like them for a nano.

Here's what melev has to say about them.

A shrimp/goby pair is on the list of possibilities. That's a beautiful looking pair. At home, my yellow watchman goby paired up with a peppermint shrimp http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=876616 the only problem is that I don't see 'em much. Looking for a something that will be visible and has personality. I looked into the suggested swalesi basslet ...$90 = sticker shock, but very cool looking fish. I think I'll keep looking and researching but I won't get something until after Labor Day weekend. Maybe a good excuse to road trip to SC.

I have a nano that I have been saving to find a mated pair of shrimp gobies for. I think if you got a mated pair and matched tha up with a pistol you would see the gobie more often that you are.

Thurge - Can't tell what you are referring to from your posted link - the reef lobster? By the way how is your monster mantis doing? Would love to see some pics.

In the "Diver's Den" there are pictures of the exact creature you will purchase. If they sell it the page is removed immediately so the one he saw must be gone. The link just leads back to the Diver's Den frontpage.

Yep its gone. It was a SWEET looking orange crab with electric blue highlites.

As for Hera the mantis she too is gone. Her third mold didn't go well and she passed as a result. I may try again some time, but IMO they are a rather difficult mantis to keep.
