I have a remora pro and I hate it. It has never got good skimmate its just watery all the time . I Have sps/lps with a heavy bioload. My budget is 250-300. the less the better, but if its going to be a good skimmer that will produce good skimmate I will pay. I was thinking the warner hx2, or deltec mc300, or an octopus? what does everyone recommend? thanks

If you are getting wet skimate with the remora, have you tried rasing the collection cup?
ya I have moved it all over the place and its either wet or none

One last tip. Have you put a level on the remora?

I mean get an actual level and make sure it's perfectly level-vertically-side to side and horizontally. I tried to eye-ball mine and I was way off. It works so much better level.

If you get another skimmer what are you going to do with the remora?

My skimate is wet using the remora also, but it is nasty stuff!

Same here I have the Remora Pro wet skimate but man it really does smell nasty:eek1:

I'm driving mine with a Mag 5 what are you using?

Warner Hx2 FTW!!

+1 (well... Warner Marine H1 is fine). I haven't owned a WM, but that'd be the HOB skimmer I'd try next. They're supposed to be coming out with a new model that has a larger neck and a bubble plate..

I am goingon a limb based on past experience...
IMO, Seaclone 100.
once dialed in...it smokes all others in its class.....

that's not even funny ...lol
what if some noob reads that and thinks it's true??

fyi, John (Warner) mentioned awhile back that the H1 dimensions were too small for a bubble plate. That's why I ended up with a H2 upgrade. Not sure if that has changed.
