Which HOT Skimmer?

I need a skimmer that hangs on the tank. I have been out for a while and need some sugestions for one that will work with my 75 gallon tank.

AquaC Remora Pro is a pretty nice skimmer. I've SeaClones with the Bioball mod do amazing, but each person's tank is different with a modded SeaClone, so it's a risky assumption.

Take a look at CS 220

I think the Coralife Super Skimmers, as linked by Sunsfantc, are a good choice for a lower cost skimmer. However, I think the 220 would be way overkill for a 75 gallon tank. I would go for the 125, if I were you. I have one on my 55g tank and like it so far. I have had it about 2-3 months.

Octopuss makes a HOB rated up to 90 gallons, maybe a little undersized. I don't think the CSS 220 would be overkill as far as results, the "general rule" (except for the high end lines) seems to be half the manufacturers rating. So the CSS 220 would be effective up to 110 gallons for example with this rule. Aqua Medic has a HOB Turboflotor and the Red Sea Berlin and Turbo Berlin are also available as HOB. The potential drawbacks on the AM and Berlin is clearance behind the tank and or pump size in the tank. If you have the room behind the tank, and the cash, I would go with the Aqua Medic Turboflotor. Second choice would be the CSS. If space is an issue then you could look at the Aqua C Remora, CPR Bak Pak, or the above mentioned Octopuss.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Deltec and Tunze have a couple of models as well. Tunze actually hangs in the tank but doesn't take the much space and I don't remember if the Deltec does or not. Anyway, just wanted to cover the gambit from economical to high end HOB skimmers

I have had a prizm and did all kinds of upgrades and it never stays working more than a day. Stay away from it.

I now have a AquaC Remora and it is GREAT!!!! IMHO and the opinion of many other it is the best for the buck!

Get the Maxjet 1200 pump though. Or better yet the Mag Drive 3 - Remora Pro
