So from posting it in here it is apparent I am wanting to house SPS. Now I am so lost on what lighting set up I should go with so here are the ones i am looking at...

Details on tank=
55gal pentagon corner tank 24" high 24" across at its widest

#1-
2 of the Odyssea metal halide system
175w 20k (each) and 48w of PC actinic (each)
Cost= 392.70 with shipping.
Equates to
446 total watts (350MH & 96PC)
8.1 Total watts per gal
6.3 Halide watts per gal
1.7 PC watts per gal

#2-
Aqua Medic OceanLight 250HQI 15k
with Coralife Aqualight Compact Fluorescent 130watts
Cost= 266.60 with shipping, because I have the Coral life light already.
Equates to
380 total watts (250MH & 130PC)
6.9 Total watts per gal
4.5 Halide watts per gal
2.3 PC watts per gal

#3-
Odyssea metal halide system and Coralife Aqualight Double Compact Fluorescent
Cost= 190.80with shipping
Equates to
353 Total watts (175MH & 178PC)
6.4 total watts per gal
3.8 halide watts per gal
3.2 PC watts per gal

Which set up should I go with I am leaning towards number 2.

You are really going to want two halides over a 48 inch tank.

its a 55 gal pentagon corner that is 24" at its widest piont.

Read his tank decription? No 48" tank here just a corner pentagon.

BTW I have a 150de pendant over my 44g pentagon with great coverage. Tank is 24 inches deep and 24 inches wide.

And all the corals do well? Do you have any tank shots?
