Which macro lens for a Nikon D40?

I just purchased a D40 and need help deciding which macro lens to get with it. What would be the best choice(s) for the money?
Any advice is appreciated. I searched a bunch of threads and all the discussion left me with my head spinning

From what I've read on Nikonians, there isn't any real difference image wise between the Nikon 105/2.8, Sigma 105/2.8, Tamron 90/2.8 or Tokina 100/2.8. If you can swing the Nikon it comes with VR(not needed for macro but might be nice for regular use.)

I am personally torn between the Sigma 105 and the 150. I think it would be nice to be able to use the lens on bugs and other critters, as well as for tank shots, and the 150 gives a bit more working room. Of course, the 150 is getting close to the Nikon in cost.

Do you think the Nikkor 105mm VR lens will produce better images than the Sigma 150mm macro lens?

That is a good question. My thought would be no as far as macro goes, but non-macro, who knows? Ask at Nikonians.
