Don't know anything about macro lenses maybe someone with knowledge or experience can chime in which I should get?

i have the canon 90mm f/2.8 lens. it does an amazing job, though i'm not a great photographer.

here's a few of pics from my. they were taken with a canon xsi and canon 90mm f/2.8 lens.

For the record, he means they were taken with a Canon 100mm f/2.8, not a 90mm.

I think Tamron makes the 90mm Macro. I think it is also supossed to be a very good lens.

you sir, are correct. i guess i shouldn't base things off of memory.

btw, how can you view the settings of a picture on here? for example, how would you have known 100mm instead of 90mm?

I use a Sigma EX 105mm f/2.8. I will be using this lense on my new camera when I decide on which Canon to buy

For one, I know Canon doesnt make a 90mm macro ;)

2nd, I use Mozilla Firefox and have an add on called Exif viewer, I can right click any picture and view the exif data. Your pipefish picture was taken at 1/100th of a second, f/2.8 and 100mm.

Your picture looks good enough for me. I have a rebel t1i and also the 100mm f2.8 but I just cannot get the macro pictures that everyone else is getting.

How far is the camera from the corals when you take the pictures? My experience has been that if I get too close then it cannot focus. If I move further away to get a good focus, then the pictures are not as detailed as yours.

I'm thinking about buying this one. It has great reviews and it's not very expensive.
