2nd, I use Mozilla Firefox and have an add on called Exif viewer, I can right click any picture and view the exif data. Your pipefish picture was taken at 1/100th of a second, f/2.8 and 100mm.
Your picture looks good enough for me. I have a rebel t1i and also the 100mm f2.8 but I just cannot get the macro pictures that everyone else is getting.
How far is the camera from the corals when you take the pictures? My experience has been that if I get too close then it cannot focus. If I move further away to get a good focus, then the pictures are not as detailed as yours.
