Which Nanostream?

Roger,

I have a 37 gallon reef, mostly SPS. Since I began this tank about a 1 1/2 ago I have gone through numerous flow schemes. In the end I've accomplished spending more money on a lot of poor quality or small powerheads than buying one or two good quality pumps for my flow.

I purchased the Tunze DOC 9005 skimmer in Jan. and I am completely sold on Tunze now. I love the skimmer and honestly see why Tunze products cost more than other brands b/c IMO they are worth the money.

Anyway, I was considering one or two of the 6045 nanostreams for my tank. I have a ~2 inch sand bed. In your opinion would one 6045 be enough flow for an SPS tank of my size? Should I get two 6025s instead? What would be ideal? I like the nanostreams rather than the regular streams b/c of their smaller, compact design. I'm really not interested in using really large pumps because I'm wanting something that doesn't take up a lot of space but does a great job created wide, strong flow.

I've looked at the koralias and while they seem like good pumps I'm tired of spending money on budget priced products only to have to buy new ones later hence spending more than I would have if I bought a quality product to begin with. Thanks in advance.

I assume its for the sps dominated tank. It that case and you dont have frogspawn i def would get the 6045, and see if ya need another. I run 3 6100's on my 180 and i am considering a 4th 6100.
Youre right you do get what you pay for tunze has always taken care of me and have great products.

You can use a wavemaker or a timer with those models. Only the 6055 can be used on a wavemaker or timer. Regards,

Pat
