I wanted to get a little variety of anthias. I have 4 very small bartletts, they are always together. But I want to get 2-3 of a different anthias type that stays 4" and under. I was thinking Carberryi Anthias, but the few reports I see of them with anthias is they school sometimes together. I'd ideally like them all the time together :). Which of the smaller ones would I have best chance?

Dispar, Ignus and carberryi anthias would probably school with bartletts. But keep in mind they become more aggressive after reaching sexual maturity (especially after one becomes a male). After that schooling behavior tends to disappear as they wont be able to share the same water column without fighting, and with no where to go, less dominant fish start to hide. It works better in larger tanks (150+ gallons) to some extend since less dominant fish can get away without hiding (and the fact that you can have more individuals).

Bartletts also have the tendency to turn into males even in the presence of other male bartletts, which makes things even worse.

I thnk I'll get a few carbs .. my tank now is 105 ( a 'short' 125). Eventually will be a 250+. So when they get big enough it's more incentive to size up.
