Which Polishing Compound for the Inside of Acrylic Tank? Help Please?

I just picked up an acrylic tank today and need to buff out some scratches on the inside of the tank. The reefer that I bought this from previously used a car polishing compound and a bonnet attached to a drill, to remove scratches from the inside of the tank. He kept acros and other sensitive life-forms in the tank w/out a problem, so obviously the car polishing compound is safe to use inside the tank.

My problem is that he doesn't remember the brand that he used. He said that he used a polishing compound that was for use on clear-coated car paint. Does anyone know of a brand/type that would be safe for the inside of the tank? Any other tips for doing this sort of thing? Thanks.

I would use novus polish #2 and #3 do a google search for it

Thanks for the help guys. Guess I'll order up some Novus 2 and 3. I totally forgot about this stuff, and it's not too expensive either.

This was originally an auto product but works great, it is used to polish the back window on convertibles.

Hans what size tank did you pick up?

I grabbed Highlander's 120gal. Couldn't pass it up b/c it has all of the plumbing done on it. He even plumbed in a closed loop w/ and OceansMotiion and a spray bar to keep it clean behind the rocks . Now I just gotta get rid of my other glass 120gal .
