Which powerhead?

I am putting together a 60 gallon cube display and would like recommendations for a controllable powerhead.

As of now no sps because I am going for movement.

Thank you.

I could see going 3 ways.

1) A pair of 6040's the advantage here is they are very discrete and would be place low behind rock work and be almost unnoticeable.

2) A pair of 6055's slightly stronger and easier to aim.

3) A single 6095's a second could be added for a more SPS intensive tank.

Normally I don't like single pump set ups, the redundancy of a second pump and the ability to alternate flow direction make dual pumps a better choice. However, a 6095 would cover the whole tank well and a cheap back up for emergencies would take care of any repair/ maintenance down time.

Thank you for the reply Roger. I considered options 1 and 3 for the same reasons.

I like being able to hide the equipment but also like a minimal approach of using one.

I have 2 6020s that I could use as back ups and a sea swirl if something happened.

Thanks again and I guess I will have to play around because it sounds like either will work well.

Doing a 170 gallon reef tank. Which pumps and controller would be best. It will be a mixed reef 66" long, 28" high 22 inches deep?

The 6095's would be on the weak side for that size tank, it could work if it was mainly lower flow corals and polyps, the 6105's would cover everything but may need to be turned down a little.
