Which Pygmy Angelfish in my cube?

I know this has been asked a lot as I've been in this hobby for many years, and though I am 'old', I wanted some fresh input.

My tank currently has 2 clownfishes, and the past few years, I've managed to keep a healthy and fat potter's angel for 2+ years. It died because of an accident to the tank. How sad. =(

Now, I am back and wanting another 'dwarf' angel fish.

I've narrowed my choices to the following:

Coral Beauty
Pygmy Angel
Lemon Peel

I would love the Lemon Peel, because of its color, but have read it being difficult. Any body a good sales at helping me out?

Thanks
Senile, but not out.

Hey wind I dont have a answer for you but I can't wait to see some of the opinions. I like your choices and would add the bi color to it. I have the same list but have been told by a few lfs to stay away from all angels in a reef nano. Not sure if it's the nano part or reef part but I think they may like to eat coral.

I hope we see some positive stories because I want one. I have heard many say the flame is fine but just last week a guy said no angels at all. I think you can have success but it's a chance you have to take.

I will be following along...I hope you get a lot of responses.

All angels are hit and miss on eating your corals. One can not touch them for years and go to town the next day. Buyer Beware!

+1, my coral beauty goes through phases where he is a model citizen, and the next day he is nipping at clams, corals, and other fish. It's a gamble with any angel you choose, but of the 3 you have selected they are equal in difficulty so choose whichever you like and just keep and eye on it. Even after 6-mo or a year, they can change behavior so never get comfortable. :)

Ive had a coral beauty in my 28 nano for a while, he has been great! Eats like a pig and just nips at my rock and what little alge I have.

My vote is coral beauty. Very nice looking fish and from what I have read it is a species that is slightly less likely to eat your corals. As with any angel it's a risk though.

I don't know how big is your cube tank, but angelfish need more room to swim than gobies, cardinals etc ... Coral beauty and lemonpeel grow much bigger than the other one. I have all of them and they can grow to 4".

IMO bi color is not a good choice...difficult like lemonpeel

+1 for Coral Beauty...a lot of color variations!
What about Flame Angel

I was actually thinking about the Flame Angel as well. The thing is, I questioned the collecting practices of them from the Marshal Islands. I tried them a couple of years ago, and they just died for no reason.

I'm not sure about now though.

I'm leaning on either the pygmy (cherub) or flame angel. LOL Then again, the coral beauty is on the list as well. I'll pay the LFS a visit and see how things are. haha

Sounds good to me!... Of the 10 angels, I have in my tank, 4 are dwarfs...1 cherub, 1 coral beauty, and a pr. of flames

can I post this in the 'Nano Forum'?

I don't think you will have any problem with that size. I had a lemonpeel and a bicolor angel in that tank size for 4 years.

I've always been strict in the past 10 years, about the whole 1 fish being the king of the tank thing, and I guess I was too conservative. LOL. I might venture into this setup.

Pygmy + Flame. I'll think about it though. I'm not in a rush, but I"m leaning towards that.

Be careful with 2 dwarf angels in one nano tank. I tried introducing a 2nd after the first was established and it was a nearly immediate battle to the death.

If you introduce them at the same time it may be easier, but long term will most likely end up with trouble.

+1 You have to add 2 angelfish at the same time or they will fight to death.
