Which recirculation pump???

Time to get rid of my mag pump. Which Tunze would be recommended? The 1073.02 or 1073.04?

72 gallon bow front with 2 Tunze 6045 powerheads? The head would be around 4 1/2 feet.

1073.040 will do about 450-500 gph at 4.5ft of head pressure.

In your opinion would that be sufficient, too much, not enough? By comparison, what would the flow of .020 be.

I know opions vary on this topic just looking for some guidance.

I love these pumps, I'm have an .020 on my chiller, it is quiet and runs flawless so I would love to use one as a return.

Thanks! It would do about 200-250. In general I think a return pump should do 3-5 times tank volume an hour. I would go with the 1073.040 just to factor in any elbows and the pump getting dirty, I think it is better to have a bit more, especially if the wattage increase is so nominal.
