Which reflector?

PSU REEFER

It's going on a 92"x44''-34''(slightly tapered)x30'' tank. Going to be 60% SPS, and 40% LPS. Was going w/ Lumenarcs but now thinking Lumenbrites. Any opinions or thoughts or 1st hand experiences would be helpful. Have plenty of canopy space to hang either type.

You probably have already seen Sanjay's Analysis, which is very informative.

The reflectors seem to fall into 2 separate groups, Group 1, the Lumenarc and the Lumenmax and Group 2 comprising Lumen Brite and Lumenmax Elite. The Group 1 reflectors seem to be better at providing a wider coverage, whereas the group 2 reflectors tend to focus the light slightly more creating higher peak values and smaller spread.

Yeah Mike I have, thanks. By going on that I should use Group 1, but the more I find out it seems to tell me to go w/ Group 2 (LB). At about 16'' from water surface the LB seem to put out a nice spread w/ great par #'s. I'm I confusing myself:(

yeah, it's hard to decide without actually getting the reflectors and trying them out. Some of the LFS may be cool with letting you try a few out...
Honestly, I think you're gonna need spread more than you'll need depth.

I am using a single 400 watt halide with a lumenbright reflector on my 240 4'x4'x2'. In order to get enough spread I have the halide 16" above the tank. The edges are pretty dim though.

Since you are going to need to use a couple of halides to cover the length of your tank I think you will be fine. I would go with lumenbrights due to the depth of your tank and keep the lights high off the water.

I would think he will need at least 4 reflectors for 92" tank!!!

I would use 3 but depending on how he is planning on aquascaping he could try 2. My tank is doing fine and it is 48x48 with a single halide.

I'm going with 3 Lumenbrights mini to light up an 80x34x32 tank and thought I would be getting some dark areas on the edge as they're supposed to cover 20x20 inch area per reflector

The large version of the Lumenbrights are around 20X20 and cover more area. I believe the coverage from them can be 36"x36" or more depending on how high they are mounted off the water. If I remember correctly Sanjay's testing was done on a 36"x36" square. Lumenbright's are designed to be mounted higher off the water then other reflectors. If they are mounted to close to the water they look like spot lights.

4 lumenbrights with 400w reeflux 12k's. tank is 96x42x30. anywhere from 150-300par at the sand.

nice thing about the narrow spread is not having to scrape as much coralline from the viewing panels ;).
