Which retro..So many choices

I am down to this kit which has a icecap ballast and I will add a XM 10k.

Slow down chief...

Both IceCap and PFO are quality products! The Spider reflectors are about as good as its gets if you can use them in your setup. Now I would base my choice off of the bulb type/manufacturer.

we have alot of LPS and a few SPS and softies. The wife an I really love the LPS...Which bulb would you go with. Currently we have a 29g with 3 3ft vho (been running 2 yrs) and all our corals seem to love it, but we are going to move them into a 75 gal in a couple of weeks and don't want to have to replace 4-6 vho bulbs every 6 months.

I have found that around the 5th or 6th month on a vho bulb my corals start reaching and looking light deprived. As soon as I pop in new bulbs everything goes back to looking good.

So we have decided MH would be the way to go with the 75g. That way I only have to buy 2 bulbs a year (120 for both) as opposed to 8-12 vho per year at 25.00 a pop....


I already have several vho actinic I can use for supplimental lighting as far as getting the blue look, what bulb is going to get me good growth and coloration in MH....
