Which skimmer- ETSS or ASM G3

Has anyone had any experience with both of these skimmers? I have the ETSS 500 right now on a 110 gal. and I was thinking about putting a ASM G3 to see I could get a little more skimming going on. The thing I don't like about the ETSS is it is so hard to set and get to foaming the way it should. I have a stinking Rio pump on it, which may be part of the problem though. Any opinions?

None of the above:)

I would pick the ASM, but I would go for the octopus over that...

I have a good deal on a ASM from someone and I was tinkering with the idea of switching skimmers out. Hadn't heard too many reviews on the octupus though.

The ASM will work well for you. As for the RO skimmers there is a load of feedback on them lately, the great majority very favorable.

I switched from an ETSS Evolution 500 to my modded G-4+ and have some nasty filth in my cup that never was produced by my ETSS.

That's kind of what has me thinking that my ETSS is not producing the thick yucky kind of skimmate that I think it should. It's just more of a watery tea colored skimmate. I had always heard that ETSS was one of the better skimmers. This one came with my tank and I have been using it for two years now, but I think I may try the ASM G3 and keep this one until I get a firsthand look as to how well they compare to each other. Thanks for all the input.
